Thought for sure I had posted this one. Me showiy Scout why we couldn’t keep going. Less than a mile to go in our planned route, stopped by a washout. Backing out of this was treacherous and we almost rolled down. Slid sideways off the trail!!

Scout, “I don’t like trees in my seat.”
The one on the right tried, tried real hard, to be her best friend. Left some good marks both time I had to go through here, so both sides match….

First camp, again, unplanned location, but turned out nice, especially when the sun went down. It was 105F. I had thought of driving back up to Horsehaven for cooler temps (about 90F) (at Oregon)

The Painted Hills is an amazing place. Still much to see and learn there and the rest of the fossil beds… (at John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, Painted Hills Unit)
